I was a local Primary teacher for many years here in Inverclyde. I then moved to America to teach at The British International School of Chicago, before undertaking the opening and running of the 1st International school in Sicily, where I was Head Teacher.
At the start of the year in Sicily, the children aged 3-5 spoke no English at all. By the end of the year, the difference was astonishing – not only could they speak English, but they could write letters and knew all of their numbers! Our children are capable of so much if they are just exposed to it.
Little Genius originated as I sat teaching my eldest son Mikey his letters and numbers, and it dawned on me that I could be doing this with so many more children. Life is so hectic, with parents working long hours and trying to juggle kids, jobs and life in general… it is difficult!
